ListeNER - Here to Hear

Welcome to ListeNer

What is ListeNer?

The brainchild of Rabbi and Rebbetzen Zobin, ListeNer is a new Ner community project that aims to provide emotional support to those in need. They realised during Covid that the impact of the pandemic on emotional well-being would likely be long lasting, and require innovative and creative thinking to provide essential support to members of the Ner community.

As a first stage in what we hope will be part of a larger scale project, ListeNer has the funding to sponsor up to 6 months of weekly, online counselling for 15 people, through a counselling service offered by CPPD, a training college for counsellors. This will be allocated on a first come first served basis - although there may be opportunity in the future to offer counselling to more people; if so, there will be updates on this page.

Please note, Ner’s involvement is limited to referring clients to CPPD and funding the sessions with them. Ner will have no ongoing involvement in the confidential therapeutic relationship between CPPD and its clients.

How to access support

The first step to accessing counselling will be to email the ListeNer administrator, Reut Provisor, at thelisteNerproject@outlook.com, she will then be in touch, usually within 2 working days, with further information about the next steps. All identifying details provided on this form will be held by ListeNer in strict confidence, and will ONLY be seen by the ListeNer administrator.
Once a referral for counselling has been made, this information will then be seen by the service/counsellor that provides the counselling. ListeNer takes matters of confidentiality very seriously and so the ListeNer team members listed below will not see names or contact details of those making enquiries. ListeNer will only have access to anonymised information such as gender, age group, and a very brief description of the reason you are seeking counselling.

Please note that there will be an assessment process with a counsellor before beginning sessions that will determine whether the counselling we can currently provide is right for you at this time. This may mean that not everyone who makes an initial enquiry will be able to access counselling through ListeNer, and they may, therefore, be signposted to other services.

Why does ListeNer need feedback?

As ListeNer is reliant on donated funds, we will need to collate relevant, anonymous, information that may be used for analysis and fundraising purposes. This means that as part of the arrangement with ListeNer, clients will be asked by the counsellor to fill out a feedback form towards the end of their counselling. These details will be shared with ListeNer but will not have any information that would identify an individual person.

We hope that this project will be of benefit to the community so please feel free to share this information with anyone you feel may be interested.

Best Wishes
